Options for fonts

You can specify any font you like, but if the user does not have that font available on their computer, then their browser package will show the default font on that system. One option to avoid this is to specify a second font that will be used if your first choice cannot be shown. Text can be any colour you want.

These are the six most common fonts

  name sample
Arial ABCDEFGHIJ - you can specify any font you like
Times New Roman ABCDEFGHIJ - you can specify any font you like
Courier ABCDEFGHIJ - you can specify any font you like
Georgia ABCDEFGHIJ - you can specify any font you like
Verdana ABCDEFGHIJ - you can specify any font you like
Geneva ABCDEFGHIJ - you can specify any font you like

The font samples above are set to size 3. See the table on the right for font sizes

It is also possible to use bold, italic and underline if you wish.

Nowadays, most modern computers have a wide range of fonts available, and font selection is less of a problem than previously - you should select the font you want and hope for the best !
